UCOP has issued the final guidelines for the Furlough Exchange Program (FEP). These guidelines now allow for both full- and partial-year participation. As a reminder, this program allows participants to use many categories of extramural funds to sponsor additional research effort to offset their salary reduction, provided this is permissible with the granting agency and the terms of the extramural award. In exchange, furlough days are forfeited and may not be used for any other purpose, including additional consulting days and campus curtailment days.
