CALL Calendar 2016-17
The following deadlines are established by the Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor to ensure timely completion of the academic personnel review process. Please refer to the campus academic policy manual (CAPM 400.220.2) for additional details concerning these deadlines.
Files are due no later than the final deadlines published below, and candidate materials may be due earlier if a different deadline is established by the department chair and/or dean. A faculty member’s failure to meet this deadline, or the earlier one established by their department, will result in an automatic one-year deferral, and the effective date of the decision in the action subsequent to the deferral is not retroactive to that of the deferred review. However, reappointment reviews and mandatory reviews cannot be deferred.
Files received at the same time are prioritized by the Committee on Academic Personel (CAP) and the Academic Personnel Office (APO) as follows: appointment and retention files; tenure and mid-career reviews; other actions with ad hoc committee review; and then all other actions. Because of this prioritization, CAP may need to delay review of some files it receives until a subsequent agenda. Candidates and appropriate academic administrative officers will be notified when decision letters are available online in DivData Review.
Close contact with the Academic Personnel Office will facilitate the expeditious handling of ladder rank appointments. Tenured appointments may require one or two months if an ad hoc personnel review committee is convened; other appointments may require two to three weeks after submission by the dean or division. Deans may establish deadlines for submission of appointment files, taking into consideration the following deadlines that the campus is required to meet:
|Formal offers for intercampus transfer (i.e., from another UC campus)||April 3, 2017|
Formal offers to candidates holding tenure or tenure-track appointments at AAU institutions and other California institutions
Many departments report that confirming external reviewers over the summer is helpful in meeting campus deadlines. The Academic Personnel Office recommends this process as a best practice. Submit when completed, even if earlier than the stated deadline.

|Candidate's materials are due||September 19, 2016
