Re: 2015-16 Academic Salary Scales

Dear Colleagues:

Salary scales for senate faculty and non-represented, non-student academic personnel have been increased by approximately 1.5 percent effective retroactive to July 1, 2015. Department chair and college provost stipends and the faculty recruitment allowance maximum are also increased by 1.5 percent. The revised Academic Salary Scales are available online at the Academic Personnel Office website. Please bring these revised scales to the attention of appropriate individuals in your units.

Non-represented librarians will continue with their ongoing salary program that began on July 1, 2014, in lieu of the 1.5 percent increase. The salary program for the graduate student researchers is still under consultation. Salary scales for represented academic personnel are set by the terms of the collective bargaining agreements.

The increase to the salary scales is one part of the 2015-16 Salary Program for Academic Appointees announced by the UC Office of the President on July 1, 2015; systemwide program guidelines were released on August 5, 2015. Information about the campus implementation of the salary program will be communicated directly to academic appointees by Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Galloway.

Payroll implementation of this increase is anticipated to occur with the October 1, 2015 paychecks, including retroactive pay adjustments. The 2015-16 salary scales can be used immediately in new appointment offers; however, staff are advised to use the 2014-15 scales in PPS and DivData until these systems have been updated. Detailed payroll implementation guidelines are being issued to divisional academic personnel staff by the Academic Personnel Office.

Please direct questions to Cecilia De La Garza, Academic Personnel Office, at cdelagar@ucsc.edu.

Sincerely,

Pamela G. Peterson
