RE: Delegation of Authority, Conflict of Commitment and Outside Activities of Faculty Members

Dear Vice Provost Lee:

Effective immediately, I delegate to the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, the following authority involving APM 025 (CAPM 012.025), Conflict of Commitment and Outside Activities of Faculty Members:

  • Approve or deny Category I requests involving teaching, research, or the administration of a grant outside of the University of California;
  • Request, receive, and review the Annual Reports of Deans and other full-time Faculty Administrator titles; and
  • Overall responsibility for implementation and compliance with APM 025 for the campus.

This overall responsibility includes the authority to approve exceptions involving APM 025. This authority may not be further delegated without expressed approval from the Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor.
