SENATE FACULTY

Dear Colleagues:

Re:  CALL for Negotiated Salary Trial Program Applications

After consultation with the Academic Senate and the academic divisions, UC Santa Cruz has decided to participate in phase two of the Negotiated Salary Trial Program (NSTP) effective July 1, 2019.

The NSTP allows eligible ladder-rank faculty to contribute external (non-state) funding resources toward their total University of California salary. The NSTP, like the well-established Health Sciences Compensation Plan (HSCP), allows faculty to utilize eligible contract and grant or discretionary fund sources to increase their total compensation by up to 30%.

Interested faculty may review the program guidelines and application instructions online at the Academic Personnel Office website. The deadline for submitting applications for participation during fiscal year 2019-20 is Wednesday, May 8, 2019 (see attached revised 2019-20 Approval Timeline).

Questions or comments should be directed to the Academic Personnel Office (apo@ucsc.edu).

                                                                                         Sincerely,

                                                                                         Grace McClintock
                                                                                         Assistant Vice Provost
