Re: Issuance of Revised CAPM 602.330, Specialist Series
Dear Colleagues:
I write to notify you that revisions have been made to campus academic personnel policy CAPM 602.330, Specialist Series, effective retroactive to July 1, 2018. These revisions are made in order to conform with systemwide academic personnel policy APM 330, Specialist Series, issued in April 2018.
The revised policy adds steps 6 through 9 to the full specialist rank, and identifies normative years at each step. The criteria for advancement between the additional steps, including advancement to step 6, will follow standard merit advancement criteria. The criteria for advancement to specialist above scale remains the same; however, the review will now occur after four years of service at step 9.
The Implementation Guidelines for New Steps in the Specialist Series provides the details on how current employees will be transitioned into the new steps. Please direct any questions regarding this revised policy to Ibukun Bloom, Academic Personnel Office (ijbloom@ucsc.edu).Sincerely,
