2024-25 Extension of the Negotiated Salary Trial Program

RE: 2024-25 Extension of the Negotiated Salary Trial Program

Dear Colleagues:

The UC Office of the President has extended the Negotiated Salary Trial Program (NSTP) Phase 2, as it is currently constituted, into fiscal year 2024-25.

The NSTP phase 2 began in fiscal year 2018-19. UCSC first participated in year two, 2019-20. Phase 2 was to last from 2018-19 until 2021-22 with an additional “wind down” year in 2022-23. At the end of the trial, a taskforce was to determine whether to institutionalize the program in policy or to end it.

After much input from the campuses, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Michael T. Brown issued two extensions:
• 5/17/2022, extending the program into fiscal year 2023-24
• 9/12/2022, further extending the program into fiscal year 2024-25

The extensions will allow time for UCOP to consider the systemwide comments. This extension also means that we will continue with the current application process and reporting requirements.
