Dear Colleagues:
The University of California has released new salary scales, effective July 1, 2018, and the 2018-19 campus Academic Salary Scales are now published. Please ensure this information reaches the appropriate individuals in your units.
Salary scales for senate faculty and nonrepresented academic personnel
Salary scales for ladder-rank faculty (and scales that derive from the ladder-rank scales) will increase by 4 percent.
Salary scales for other non-represented faculty and academic personnel will increase by 3 percent, with the exception of Junior Specialist, which increases by 3.5 percent.
Department chair and college provost stipends will increase by 3 percent.
These increases are part of a three-year salary program for faculty and nonrepresented academic personnel announced by the UC Office of the President. Campus Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Tromp will directly communicate information about the campus implementation of the salary program to academic appointees. Note that these percentage increases are approximate, due to rounding.
Salary scales for represented academic personnel
Per the contractual agreement between the University Council-American Federation of Teachers (UC-AFT) Unit 18 and the University of California, all Non-Senate Faculty (NSF) salary scales will adjust by 2.5 percent.
Effective date for biweekly-paid employees
The effective date of the new salary scales for biweekly-paid employees is also July 1, 2018, as it aligns with the start of a biweekly pay period.
