RE: Deadlines for 2020-21 Academic Personnel Actions

Dear Colleagues:

In light of the significant workload impacts and absences caused by the ongoing CZU Lightning Complex wildfire in Santa Cruz County, Campus Provost/ Executive Vice Chancellor Lori Kletzer has approved a 30 day extension to deadlines in the 2020-21 Senate Faculty CALL Calendar. Please see the calendar for the updated campus deadlines for faculty candidates, departments, and divisions. This extension does not apply to the formal appointment offer deadlines for intercampus transfers, AAU institutions, and other California institutions.

The deadlines for candidates to submit materials are set by each department. Departments may set any date between July 1 and the campus deadline (normally the first day of fall quarter, now October 26, 2020). Some of these deadlines have already passed. Each department should decide how to manage deadlines within the longer timeframe.

We ask that faculty who are not as heavily impacted by the wildfire observe the original deadlines, and we ask that reviewers at all levels please move files along before the deadlines whenever possible. This will help ensure that all review files can make it to the academic senate before CAP adjourns in the spring, and that decisions can be made before they become effective on July 1.

If you have any questions about the CALL calendar, please email the Academic Personnel Office at apo@ucsc.edu

Thank You,

Grace McClintock
